I attended my first appointment at the dental clinic in Lewisham regarding having 2 implants. The first thing I noticed was how clean, modern, and warm the clinic was. The staff were very professional and friendly. The x-ray was easy and only took minutes not the normal ‘uncomfortable biting down and turn your head this way and that way’. I stood still and X-ray machine moved around me. The actual consultation itself was straightforward the dentist explained the implant procedure in clear, concise language that was easy to understand. I then had a meeting with a really nice lady who talked me through the whole procedure again, how long it will take and my finance options. The whole process from start to finish was easy to understand including the healing time. I am really glad that I stayed locally instead of travelling across London. The actual cost of treatment was clear with no hidden charges I was not ‘advised’ to have additional treatments. I came in for implants and that is what I’m having. I have booked my second appointment to have the actual implant treatment in 2 weeks times. So far I have been given first class treatment - very happy with Bannings.

I am extremely disappointed with the communication and administrative standards at Banning Dental in Lewisham. I had to chase the practice myself to arrange my implant review, which should have been automatically flagged and communicated. A private practice should have reliable systems in place to notify patients when follow-up treatment is due. The 48-hour cancellation policy is not clearly stated in email communications. Any policy that carries a financial penalty must be explicit and transparent. Patients should not be caught out by poorly communicated terms, particularly when managing busy professional schedules. Being a patient at Banning Dental represents a considerable financial investment. It is therefore entirely reasonable to expect efficient systems, clear communication and well-managed operations. Unfortunately, the scheduling and administrative processes feel poorly coordinated and lacking in patient consideration. This does not reflect on the hygienists, dentists and specialists, who have provided very good clinical care. The issue lies with the practice’s systems and operations, which are significantly flawed. Please do better.

I was quite nervous about visiting a dentist here in the UK, but Dr Amira Ali immediately put me at ease. She was incredibly kind and welcoming, explained everything thoroughly, and made me feel completely comfortable. I’m really glad she’s my dentist now.

Really happy with my first visit to Banning. Very thorough inspection and x-rays at reasonable cost. Staff and dentist were very friendly and I felt completely at ease. I was given advice and did not feel pressurised to undergo further treatment. I will definitely use Banning again.
