About
Smyth Dental Surgery in Cookstown has a history dating back to 1947, when the late Mr Paddy McErlean developed and expanded the surgery from Loy Street. The current Practice Principal, Mr David Smyth, graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 1984 and joined the team, taking over when Mr McErlean retired in 1989. Mr Smyth has also been appointed as a Vocational Trainer, and the practice is described as a vocational training practice, although there are currently no vocational dental trainees working there. In 1997, the surgery moved to its Fairhill Road premises, where it says the change provided easy access to ground floor facilities for disabled patients. The practice also highlights improved parking and better access for all patient groups. It was incorporated as a Limited Company in 2010 to help meet the needs of its loyal patients.
