About Spence J & Colleague

Spence J & Colleague provides dentistry in Ryde town centre, in a building dating from around 1880. The practice was established in Ryde in 1983 and is led by two dental surgeons, James Spence and Ian Clift, with a team of hygienists and nurses. Their prevention-focused approach places emphasis on maintaining healthy gums, with many patients seeing the hygienists three times a year and some more frequently. Treatment options highlighted on the practice website include orthodontic braces for children and adults, as well as implant placement and “orthopaedic orthodontics” under Dr Clift’s special interests. For restorative care, the practice describes 3M stainless steel crowns made from medical grade stainless steel, using an American technique and fitting them in one appointment with no impressions; the site notes they are used privately but charged at less than a typical NHS crown.
